United State of Women Summit (USOW)

On June 14th, 2016, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center located in Washington, D.C. set the stage for the first The United State of Women USOW Summit. Hosted by the White House, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Aspen Institute, the one-day conference set out to empower and educate women while celebrating their achievements, addressing gender equality issues, and focusing on the important work that still must be done. Starlite, in collaboration with California-based company BP Productions, provided the lighting system for the event. The design implemented Clay Paky Mythos and K20 B-EYEs, Vari-Lite VL3500 Spots, Elation Color Chorus, and Martin RushPar2 Zooms all driven by a full-size GrandMA2.

Boogie Nights

Atlantic City’s Tropicana Casino and Resort needed a complete solution after management decided to covert a section of its casino into the retro ‘70s- and ‘80s-themed dance club, Boogie Nights. The venue comprised a long space just off the casino floor with three sections, including a dance floor area, a bar, and a lounge, as well as a VIP area and a balcony area that performers and dancers access.

Starlite was approached to design and install the venue’s entire audio, video, control, and lighting system to help boost Boogie Nights as a premier night club featuring unprecedented sound, intelligent lighting, fog and bubble machines, video projectors, and the biggest disco ball on the Atlantic City strip.

“Starlite did a fantastic job with the entire project, especially since the installation experience was very challenging,” said David Peña, Owner of Boogie Nights. “Since the club is a transformation of a huge open space, it was a difficult room to fill evenly with audio. The sound system is incredible! Customers constantly comment on how impressed they are and how clean it sounds. The lounge area has great energy while allowing patrons to still have a conversation due to the ability to direct sound. The loudspeakers most definitely complete the Boogie Nights experience. Some of our other clubs have JBL and we have always had great experiences with their products. JBL is a name I feel comfortable with and I know their speakers are dance quality.”
