Starlite is seeking an experienced sales professional with the ability to prospect and close new business for the company’s Special Event Production department.

Our clientele include meeting and corporate event planners, entertainment artists and social and special event clients and other hospitality professionals,

AV ACCOUNT MANAGER

Full time position

Starlite is seeking an Account Executive with a proven record of generating sales of audiovisual, lighting and related systems to our commercial clients.  The successful hire will be able to consistently identify opportunities, nurture prospects, maintain a strong pipeline and consistently close business.

  • 3-5 years’ experience with commercial AV, lighting and control systems, or telecommunications

MOVING LIGHT TECHNICIAN

Full time position

The successful candidate will test, maintain, prepare and troubleshoot moving lights and other related equipment in our shop on a daily basis.  Familiarity with industry standard moving lights (Clay Paky, Varlite, Martin, etc.) and control consoles (ETC, grandMA, Hog, etc.) is required.  This person will also be expected to work in live events.

Candidates should possess the following skills:

  • Intimate understanding of Moving Lights and Conventional fixtures as well as basic electrical principals of voltage, current, and power
  • Familiarity and ability to patch, program and run common lighting consoles, dimmer racks and motor control
  • Ability to use a multi-meter to measure voltage and continuity testing required
  • Console networking, basic lighting design, moving light design, basic rigging, and chain motor maintenance.
  • Good organizational, written and oral skills required
  • Exceptional customer service skills and computer skills required
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work independently with little or no supervision as well as able to work as a team
  • Successful candidate will be able to prioritize assignments and adapt to changes in daily tasks when necessary
  • May, on occasion require overtime on short notice or overnight stays
  • This position may include the opportunity to work on shows

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus two years related experience in the entertainment technology field with lighting gear including automated lighting and lighting control consoles
  • Minimum of 2 years technical experience in AV, lighting or related technology
  • Current State driver’s license with no adverse history as well as own reliable transportation

LIGHTING PROJECT SUPERVISOR

Full time position

The Project Supervisor has the responsibility of supervising and assisting installation technicians in the efficient completion of project. This includes understanding and implementing the project scope of work, including drawings and specifications, supervising and mentoring installation technicians and appropriate utilization of resources are key elements of this position.

Candidates should possess the following skills:

  • Understanding of DMX & DMX over Ethernet protocols (sACN, Art-Net, Pathport, etc
  • Basic understanding of Data/Networking principles and Low Voltage Systems
  • Experience with industry-specific systems including wiring and terminations
  • Ability to trouble-shoot lighting, power and control systems required
  • Programming, configuring, testing and commissioning of lighting and rigging projects
  • Control system platform certification preferred (Examples: ETC, CueServer2, Crestron)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to make presentations
  • Ability to implement a comprehensive project plan with schedule
  • Ability to organize and moderate in-person project meetings on site and in office with project stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Rigging experience preferred

AV PROJECT SUPERVISOR

Full time position

The AV Project Supervisor has the responsibility of supervising and assisting onsite installation technicians to ensure that the team completes the project properly, on time and within budget.  This includes field management, programming, configuration, testing and commissioning of complex Audio Visual projects.

Candidates should possess the following skills:

  • The ability to comprehend the scope of the project and execute the work in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Able to troubleshoot complex audio, video, switching and control systems.
  • Self-sufficient, self-motivated, organized, reliable and punctual.
  • Self-starter with ability to maximize efforts daily, without daily supervision.

SHOW TECHNICIAN

Full time position

Join Starlite’s dynamic team and join our Event Technology department to learn all there is about live event production.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with warehouse staff to ensure quality of equipment leaving the building. Perform equipment pre-builds and patching. Assist in the testing and preparation of production and rental orders. Coordinate, perform and track equipment maintenance on rental/production inventory.
  • Work on-site as a production technician installing/implementing designs during setup, show and strike. Operate equipment. Work with and sometimes supervise production crews including in-house and/or local labor. Ensure that the production schedule proceeds in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Collaborate with production managers during pre and post production. Coordinate resources with production and rental managers, and warehouse staff.
  • Work with customers who require technical assistance during business and off-business hours.
  • Assist production and rental managers with their workload. Proofread and revise orders as necessary to ensure that paperwork is accurate. Generate quotations on occasion.
  • Strong knowledge of audio, video and/or lighting principles and equipment required.
  • Ability to lift 50 to 75 lbs. Position requires sitting or standing for long periods of time as well as working with heights and in confined spaces.
  • Active driver’s license and good driving record required. Personal vehicle may be required for travel to meetings, site visits and transportation to and from shows.
SHOP TECHNICIAN

Full time position

Jump start your career in entertainment technology by joining our team and gaining hands-on experience with the latest in entertainment technology.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Accurately check in returning oders following Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Prepare and pull orders for customers and productions ensuring accuracy of equipment counts,
    following Standard Operations Procedures.
  • Test equipment returning from customers and productions, identify missing or damaged equipment
    and follow necessary procedures.
  • Organize and maintain departments and general warehouse area.
  • Load and unload orders for customers at the ramp and truck docks, and for Starlite productions,
    ensuring that customer paperwork and payment terms are met.
LEAD A/V TECH

Full time position

Starlite is looking for a Lead Audio Visual Technician to join our team in Moorestown, NJ. Preferred Lead Technician candidates will have installation experience with complex AV systems and video conferencing projects. Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience completing technical installation and management of audiovisual systems, including equipment rack fabrication, site preparation, termination and calibration of audio and video equipment, implementation of control systems and video conference systems. Ability to trouble-shoot complex audio, video, switching and control systems problems required. Preferred applicants should be able to discuss examples of completed projects and provide positive references. Good communication skills, customer skills and computer skills are required.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in installation/commissioning of AV systems
  • Crestron, AMX & Extron installation experience
  • Cisco videoconference installation experience Preferred
  • Audio DSP platform certifications or related work experience Preferred (Examples: Biamp, ClearOne, Polycom)
  • Control system platform certification or related work experience Preferred (Examples: AMX, Crestron, Extron)
  • InfoComm CTS certification, CTS-I is preferred

FIELD SERVICE REP

Full time position

Field service representative will visit customer installations as well as support other technicians in the field. May also provide phone support, where appropriate, to customers. Provide prompt, courteous, and excellent service to customers.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Perform full system calibrations for audio and video on installed systems
  • Perform full control system test out with programming support for installed control systems
  • Perform a full quality control check for all fabrication and installation efforts including but not limited to AVL best practices and Starlite company standards
  • Perform all software/firmware configuration uploads and checks to ensure the system performs to both the manufacturer’s specifications as well as Starlite’s
  • Complete/approve any red line updates on system drawings for any changes required during the fabrication, installation, and quality control steps
  • Provide clear and concise documentation on any configurations implemented or needed for successful implementation (i.e. network configurations, video settings, DSP settings, etc.)
  • Complete system test and accept with commissioning for installed solutions both remotely and onsite at client’s premises
  • Perform R&D tasks both in house and in the field as needed and required by Starlite
  • Support all types of technical escalations from the field team and work with other team members on resolutions as needed
  • Provide end user training and support for deployments

Qualifications and Skills

  • Expert knowledge of the industry and standards in AV systems design and integration
  • Must have excellent communication skills and possess excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to do advanced troubleshooting on any device
  • Expert knowledge of audio principles and must have the ability to write, edit and fine tune audio programs for Biamp, Clear One, Polycom, QSC, BSS, Media Matrix, Symetrix, Yamaha, etc.
  • Expert knowledge of loading and troubleshooting AMX, Crestron, and Extron control systems
  • Must be well versed in interacting with networks (wired or wireless) and must be able to support networked solutions for video conferencing, VOIP audio conferencing, and control system networking
  • Candidate must have general knowledge of hand tools, rigging safety and general carpentry skills and be proficient in the safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Heavy lifting (75 lbs.) may be required as well as working in a harness and climbing to high places up to 35 feet.
  • Occasionally requires overtime and/or extended travel
  • Candidate must possess a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record

INTEGRATION SALES ENGINEER

Full time position

Design, specify and manage installation of audiovisual integrated systems.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide structural and MEP coordination including conduit and electrical requirements, interfacing with clients and job sites to document customer requirements and job site conditions
  • Review pre-construction design and documentation, providing assistance with technical design and pricing for proposals as needed. Work directly with account managers, clients, architects, consultants and staff throughout the design development and delivery process with the support of the Director of Engineering
  • Provide conceptual designs for lighting, rigging (if required), audio, video and control systems
  • Develop statement of work for each job based on system design and customer requirements. Responsible for job documentation as needed.
  • Conduct equipment research on new and existing technology for client applications
  • Site surveys as needed with account manager, create job cost estimates for bids, if required and continue to, review and approve Systems Descriptions. Provide technical response to the customer RFP/RF/RFI.
  • Be capable of working effectively and efficiently with support from other members of the engineering team
  • Maintain complete and accurate project documentation and records
  • Identify all cabling and miscellaneous materials for project
  • Assist Account Managers with development of system proposals and labor estimates
  • Correctly interpret multiple formats of technical specifications, schematic drawings and architectural diagrams

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical subject or equivalent and related work experience
  • InfoComm CTS certification desirable, CTS-D certification highly desirable
  • Plasa Certifications desirable such as ETC-P
  • Video Conference/Teleconference certifications are a plus (such as Polycom, QSC, Biamp, etc.)
  • Proficiency in the use of diagrammatic software tools (such as AutoCAD, Visio, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of audiovisual control systems (AMX, Crestron, Extron, etc.) changes and troubleshooting
  • Provide field service support if requested
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have no adverse driving history
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
